Former Boise Cascade Branch Manager, Ken Katona, Joins Homestead Building Systems, Inc.

Katona Brings Over 24 Years Of Experience In Distribution And Leadership To Homestead.

BRISTOW, Virginia – August 30, 2018 – Ken Katona, former Branch Manager for Boise Cascade Engineered Wood Products, has joined Homestead Building Systems, Inc. as the new Distribution and Logistics Manager.

“We are excited to welcome Ken to the HBS family,” said Dave Baird, owner of Homestead Building Systems. “He comes with a long history of running large distribution facilities for Boise Cascade. We feel that his skill set and experience will help us get to the next level.”

Ken has always had a connection to the LBM industry. He even worked on a framing crew as a teenager. After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, he worked for Georgia Pacific in Florida. In 1998, Ken became an Account Manager for Boise Cascade in their Atlanta office where he was later promoted to Sales Manager. The company moved him to Maryland in 2013 where he was the Branch Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region from Pittsburgh to VA Beach.

“Over the years my relationship with Homestead Building Systems grew,” said Ken Katona. “I have always been impressed with the innovative, forward-thinking company that HBS is. When they said they were looking for a Distribution Manager, it was an easy decision to join their team. I believe there is a strong future and Dave Baird has a vision and strategy to continue to be the best supplier of wall panels, roof trusses, and floor systems in VA and MD. As the Distribution Manager, Katona will lead the distribution and logistics department as well as develop strategic initiatives to help move the company forward.
